Five of the best Plankbridge huts with a view

The perfect places to stay this summer

From Cornwall to Guernsey, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite Plankbridge huts, each with spectacular views. Designed and crafted in our Dorset workshop from the finest sustainable materials, they possess the wow factor in every way…

Lynher Lookout, Lower Tamar Valley, Cornwall

Fall asleep to the stars in this luxurious Custom Made timber-clad Cabin with pitched roof and floor-to-ceiling windows and wake up to views of the River Lynher with its incredible viaduct.

What guests say: We loved the remoteness of the cabin; you really feel like you are all alone.. with the exception of the cows that come to visit and graze nearby which was lovely. The cabin was perfect, amazing use of space and had everything we needed for our little stay.

Furnace Lakes, Sussex

Book your stay at the Mallard Hut and you’ll experience wildlife from every angle and beautiful lake views. There’s even a hot tub valet service to ensure your hot tub is up to temperature by the time you check in, as well as a fire pit with barbecue grill and, for those who like to stay connected, fast WiFi.

What guests say: What a fantastic place to stay! How lucky we were to be the first ever guests at the Mallard Hut. Immaculate place, beautiful scenery and even more incredible hosts. What more could you ask for?

Beaucette Marina, Guernsey

What better destination for a summer break than one of the four luxury, self-contained shepherd’s huts that overlook the marina and the harbour entrance with beautiful views across to Sark and Herm, and towards France.

What guests say: A great place for a staycation! We really enjoyed our weekend in the blue shepherd’s hut. The log-fired hot tub was such a treat for our children, who could have spent all day in it. The huts were super clean and comfortable. They are well made and had everything we needed.

The Pig on the BeachDorset

Owned by our favourite Hotel group, the Pig- on the Beach has two Plankbridge shepherd’s huts tucked away at the bottom of the garden with stunning views across Studland Bay. Each ‘room’ is made up of two separate huts; one hut for the bedroom and the bathroom and the other is your own little snug room, with drinks trolley, sofa and a sun deck.

What guests say: We have just returned from staying in the unique shepherd’s huts at The Pig- on the Beach – they are quirky yet luxurious as you get two, with the most amazing view of Old Harry. To wake up to sounds of sheep and pigs with not an engine noise for miles around is truly a dream!

Elmley Nature Reserve, Isle of Sheppey

Just an hour from London, Elmley Nature Reserve comprises 3,200 acres of wilderness surrounded by the sea. Owners Georgina and Gareth Fulton asked Plankbridge to design a series of 10 luxury shepherd’s huts, inspired by the contemporary Scandinavian designs of boat houses and tiny houses, to allow others to enjoy incredible views of the reserve – the latest of which were delivered last month!

What guests say: Everything was so peaceful and quiet, and the views were stunning. The hut was so well set up and had everything we needed for a few nights. The bed was super comfy and waking up to the views was wonderful.
