The Famous Five shepherd's hut

As a child, many of us enjoyed reading Enid Blyton's stories.  My particular favourite was 'Children of Cherry Tree Farm' and, of course, The Famous Five series.

We were very pleased to be asked to help the publishers of The Famous Five books with their garden feature at 2018's Countryfile Live.

Countryfile Live is a fantastic show based on the popular BBC1 programme.  Taking place over four days in August at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, it has lots to see and do and was a wonderful place for us to have a shepherd's hut.  We provided our 'Ten plus Four' hut, with copper cladding and a four foot covered deck as the bookshop.

It was great to see the hut full of Enid Blyton's wonderful books and contemporary cut out illustrations of the characters, drawn by artist Laura Ellen Anderson.  The surrounding garden worked really well and a highlight was watching all the children enjoying the story telling.  Lots of people were involved, including The Great Western Railway (you may have seen their TV advert featuring The Famous Five characters).

Once the hut has been on its next big adventure to River Cottage HQ's Summer Festival as a book shop for Little Toller Books, it will be available to purchase.  It will make a great office, artist's studio or craft room.  Please get in touch for further details.
