In 2024 we launched our very first Sauna shepherd’s hut model – The Sauna Snug. Unveiled at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, this first of its kind hut was available for sale. Penny visited our trade stand and fell in love. Head of Creative, Hannah, recently visited Penny’s home to see how the sauna has settled into its tranquil spot in her garden.
Why did you choose a Plankbridge sauna shepherd’s hut?
I saw the Plankbridge sauna at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show and having been looking for a sauna for several years, felt it was the first one I’d seen that fitted neatly into the track we have by the natural swimming pond without looking out of place in the garden.
Where is your hut located, and why did you choose that spot?
It sits above the pond so you can see through the glass door while sitting in the sauna and look out at the pond and garden beyond. It gets all the afternoon and evening sun.
Can you describe what it’s like to have your own private sauna in the garden?
It has given us all a great deal of pleasure, a great place to relax and especially having had the pond for many years now it adds so much. It is beautifully finished and we all adore going off for a sauna!
Do you feel the benefits of using your sauna shepherd’s hut?
For me especially after a long day gardening and, for the family, it is the perfect start to a day off or after a day’s work. The perfect way to ensure a good night’s sleep too.
Any advice to someone considering their own sauna?
I would highly recommend the Plankbridge Sauna Snug, it is a great design and we wouldn’t want to be without it – we’re so used to having it here!
